The never-ending US story of climate change control

There's no end to it, it goes on and on. At last and against all odds, a spurious compromise. The Bush Administration made a fool of its own Bali delegation. It was simply a question of hours when the Administration launched a clear "as you were!" on the last minute decision taken by the US delegation to Bali as a consequence of harsh criticism faced by the overwhelming majority of the other delegations to the Conference. At home, Bush didn't seem to be amused by this decision. He expects the developing countries to take a more active role in fighting climate change. Summing up, there are no new arguments, a deadlock once again. So looking at this presidential opinion logically, the compromise arrived at laboriously in Bali turns out to be at stake.

If it weren't for a question of such vital question, the international public could burst into peals of laughter. But fortunately there are growing signs in present-day US preelection politics heading in the right direction. This inside change of opinion against the Bush Administration's anti-climate position is spreading among several US States.

Meanwhile, the action taken by the USA questioning the Bali compromise will, as a matter of fact, cause reactions to be taken by the developing countries.
Six of one and half a dozen of the other. So it will end in a draw. Or, to put it bluntly, the train to nowhere is resuming speed.
